British Rankings

British ranking points are awarded for all British tour events, weighted as 'International' 'national', 'regional' or 'local'. For a complete list of 'tour' & 'non-tour' events visit the 'Events' page.

Current UK Rankings as of 1st July 2010

After his excellent win at the Notts Open Alex Hartley is up to number 3 in the rankings.  Above him Jermaine Manners is clear at number 1 with Stuart Hobden only just ahead at number 2.   Alex has entered the South London Open and with no points to defend from last year should overtake Stuart.

Other players moving up the rankings include Anthony Philips (46), Haydn Jones (36), Adam Gross (33) and Dan Busby (23).  The first 3 could break into the top 20 with a couple more events and Dan may even set his sights higher as he is only 1,500 points off the top 10.

With 4 upcoming events there is plenty of opportunity for others to jump up the rankings. For the top players in class B there are up to 2,200 points available and even more for class A players.

More Scottish Events?

With the start of a Scottish Tour, 5 events confirmed, we may see new names enter the list.  We are currently in discussion with Scottish racketlon to see if they would like these events added to the tournament schedule and ranking list.  We already include the Scottish Open and its great news to see more racketlon tournaments springing up in the UK.

Mens Elite History

Below is a list of the top 10 men's elite for the last 3 years.  In 2009 the average number of domestic events entered by the top 10 was 6 with a number of players having a similar number of qualifying World events.

There are plenty of other players who are expected to challenge in 2010. The returning Scot Calum Reid will challenge Jermaine Manners for the top spot if he enters more domestic events. Ed Batson & James Treweek will look to build on recent performances & others like Tom Whitehouse & James Bird could feature.

There has been a change on the World front with the maximum number of qualifying events over the 2 year period being reduced from 10 to 8.  This will impact Jermaine, Ray & to a “lesser” extent Keith (sorry but couldn’t resist the “pun”). The World Championships acted as an inspiration to all that attended. The UK game is really open now internationally following the retirement of Doug Struthers & John O'Donnell.

World Rankings

Currently, if you enter the English Open, Scottish Open, Welsh Open or British Open, you will qualify for world ranking points and thus a world ranking. This is because, these events form part of the world racketlon tour. The English & Scottish Opens form part of the world tour proper & the British & Welsh Opens as challenger events. In 2010 further domestic events will have world ranking points.

Racketlon Netherlands have produced a great interactive tool for world rankings, allowing you to look at each category, as well as each country. It's a great tool, which we are looking at with a view to future developments for British rankings.
