CHAPEL ALLERTON RACKETLON

Chapel Allerton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club hosted their first ever club racketlon tournament on the weekend, attracting 14 club members, most of whom had never played all four disciplines separately, let alone all together...

The event was run by club manager This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , who has indicated that future racketlon events will be considered as the event was well received by competitors & spectators alike.

The event itself also saw local talent & British No1 Jermaine Manners competing, along with Manners Snr (Wingrove). Inevitably, with a pedigree in all four constituent sports, the Manners duo made the final. In the final, Manners Snr made the running in the table tennis, but Manners duo pegged the match back through the other disciplines to take the title.

The main highlight was Ian Sher aka the "sherminator", who stands at 6 foot 6 inches, has a most ferocious tennis serve & was by far the most improved player and consequently picked up the wooden spoon.
